Our History

Meet the Owner, Christen Heins

Christen Heins is the current owner and operator of Scrubs by Identity Factor (originally known as Identity Factor). The company has been part of her family since 2003, when her Uncle Kevin Gorham initially opened the store and embroidery shop. Christen loved seeing her uncle’s work ethic and kindness to every customer. When he died, Christen went to talk to her aunt about what would happen to the store. Her aunt was no longer interested in owning and managing the store without Uncle Kevin but was apprehensive about letting it go. When Christen discussed with her aunt that she felt she could continue her uncle’s dream and hopefully expand it, the company was sold to Christen with her aunt’s blessing. Her aunt knew that Christen would maintain an honorable business since Christen shared the same work ethic and understood the value of treating every customer like family, just like her uncle did when he owned the company.

When Christen isn’t busy at Identity Factor, she is likely soaking up the fun with her family. Christen is married, a mother of four daughters and two dogs, and has five grandchildren who call her by her new and improved name, Mimi.
